We provide our students with a variety of learning and enrichment opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. From arts and sports to transport supports, these resources help our students learn, grow, and enjoy their time at school.
Arts and Crafts
Creativity plays a key role in learning at Benincasa Special School. Our students are encouraged to explore their imagination through a variety of arts and crafts projects that reflect both individual expression and teamwork.
Throughout the year, we create themed artwork to celebrate seasons, school events, and community initiatives, with many students taking part in activities such as the Credit Union Art Competition.
Art gives our students the opportunity to express themselves, develop fine motor skills, and experience the joy of creating something unique. It’s a space where confidence grows, ideas come to life, and creativity is celebrated in every form.
Sports and Physical Activities
Physical activity is an important part of life at Benincasa Special School. We encourage all students to take part in sports and movement activities that help build coordination, teamwork, and self-confidence.
Our spacious yard and garden areas give students plenty of opportunities to get active and enjoy the outdoors. Whether it’s football, tennis, swimming, or fun school events like Sports Day, every child is supported to participate at their own level and enjoy the experience.
Through physical education, we aim to promote wellbeing, cooperation, and the simple joy of being active, helping students develop healthy habits that last a lifetime.
School Transport
At Benincasa Special School, we understand how important reliable transport is for our students and their families. Through the School Transport Scheme, provided by Bus Éireann on behalf of the Department of Education, eligible students can access safe and dependable transport to and from school each day.
This service ensures that every child, regardless of circumstance, can attend school consistently and comfortably. It plays an important role in supporting inclusion and helping our students focus on learning, connection, and growth within the classroom.
